Craft your own chocolate confections under the expert guidance of Chocolatier Igor Van Gerwen. Each exclusive workshop includes a guided tasting, beverage and one kilogram of delicious Anvers chocolate to take home.
Anvers Chocolate Factory uses fresh Tasmanian cream and butter, single origin chocolate, fruits, nuts and liqueurs to craft their hand-made chocolate truffles, chocolate oranges, fudges and pralines. Owner and head chocolatier Igor Van Gerwen shares the know-how learned in his birthplace of Belgium from this 1930s lodge set amongst 2.5 hectares of mature tree gardens in Latrobe.
You’ll find samples to tempt you in the tasting centre, a small museum on the history of chocolate, and viewing windows to watch the confectionery staff tempering, moulding and enrobing fine chocolates. The on-site café features an open fireplace and stained-glass windows, and specialises in hot cocoa, chocolate desserts, Belgian-style breakfasts, hearty Tasmanian lunches, and morning and afternoon teas.
