Established in 2005, Van Diemens Land Creamery was created by a Tasmanian dairy farming family in an endeavour to add value to their milk. Using milk from their farm, Jan and Paul began creating some of the freshest ice cream available, with some batches going from cow to consumer in less than 24 hours.

Today, Paul and Jan have moved their focus from farming to creating artisan ice cream and gelato using as little additives and preservatives as possible, while maintaining the amazing texture and consistency of smooth, creamy ice cream.

With over 50 flavours, VDLC proudly use local produce to ensure their ice cream is as Tasmanian as possible – from local berries and leatherwood honey to Tasmanian peanut butter, olive oil and pepperberries.

Operating since 1908, all Spreyton ciders are made from 100% Tasmanian apples and pears, with the majority grown on the family's own orchards. Spreyton’s range of ciders are classic examples of the cider maker’s art.

Spreyton Cider Co. is the latest venture from Spreyton Fresh, makers of award-winning fresh apple juice since 1998.

Opened in 2012, the cidery and cellar door is located 10 minutes from Devonport, and offers tastings of the Spreyton alcoholic and non-alcoholic range. An on-site food van offers café-style meals, with a kids playground and plenty of space to stretch your legs.

Anvers Chocolate Factory in Latrobe is a chocolate lover's heaven. Chocolate truffles, chocolate oranges, fudge and pralines are hand-made using fresh Tasmanian cream and butter, single origin chocolate, fruits, nuts and liqueurs.

Igor Van Gerwen, owner and head chocolatier, acquired his know-how from his native Belgium. Samples are available to tempt you in the tasting centre and shop.

Viewing windows allow you behind-the-scenes insight into the action: confectioners tempering, moulding and enrobing fine chocolates, truffles, pralines, fudge and more.

With its open fire and stained glass windows, the Anvers café specialises in chocolates, hot cocoa in many flavours, and chocolate desserts. Belgian-style breakfasts and hearty Tasmanian lunches, as well as morning and afternoon teas are also on offer.

WINEMAKERS TOUR

Join winemaker Andrew Gaman for a tour of the winemaking facility, including a gourmet Tasmanian platter lunch and a tasting of the whole range of Eastford Creek wines, as well as a few special samples of bottles not available at the cellar door.

GRAPE GROWERS TOUR

Take a tour of the vineyard with owner Rob Nichols, and experience the magic of harvest, tasting a grape or two along the way. A gourmet Tasmanian platter, wine tastings and sips of those special samples you won’t find anywhere else are also included.

Eastford Creek Vineyard is a family-owned and -run vineyard located two kilometres off the highway in Sassafras, just a five-minute drive from Latrobe.

Producing premium-quality cool climate wines including Sparkling, Pinot Gris, Rosé, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Eastford Creek Vineyard undertakes the whole process from vine to bottle on-site.

Take a journey off the path most travelled and find yourself at Blue Hills Honey in the small district of Mawbanna.

This honey producer calls the Tarkine wilderness home, and has been working with local bees for over 60 years. The on-site café and gift shop offer samples of award-winning honey and mead, and you're invited to wander through to the factory viewing area and interpretation centre for a full run-down on how their famous leatherwood honey is sourced.

Jim & Val Hursey purchased the current Hursey's site in Stanley in 1987, and a fish factory, takeaway and small café were built. A complete renovation in 2015 now sees a 100-seat upstairs restaurant, with a takeaway and fresh fish sales area downstairs.

Hursey’s nine fishing vessels catch Southern Rock Lobster/Giant Crab, and scale fish and gummy shark from Bruny Island in the south to King Island in the Bass Strait and right along the rugged West Coast. The daily catch is processed on-board ready for restaurant and export sales.

The fully-licensed restaurant menu features Southern Rock Lobster, scallops, oysters and other seasonally available fresh seafood, as well as local beer and wine.
